Genshin Impact Venti Guide: Patch 1.4

It’s been a long time since Venti was last available. Featured in the first ever 5-Star banner once Genshin Impact properly launched, Venti hasn’t been seen since October 28.

So let’s take a look at Venti and how to truly make him shine with the best team comp, best weapons, and best artifacts.

Venti Abilities

Venti is probably the best overall character in Genshin Impact.

He works as a fantastic sub-DPS with great energy generation and long lasting AOE abilities but can also double as a primary DPS.

Divine Marksmanship (Normal Attack)

  • Normal Attack: Perform up to six consecutive strikes.
  • Charged Attack: Perform a more precise aimed shot with increased damage. While aiming, favorable winds will accumulate on the arrowhead. A fully charged wind arrow will deal Anemo damage.
  • Plunging Attack: Plunges from mid-air to strike the ground below, damaging enemies along the path and dealing AOE DMG upon impact.

Skyward Sonnet (Elemental Skill)

  • Press: Summons a wind domain at the opponent’s location, dealing AOE Anemo damage and launching opponents into the air.
  • Hold: Summons an even larger wind domain with Venti as the epicenter, dealing AOE Anemo damage and launching affected opponents into the air. After unleashing the hold version of this ability, Venti rides the wind into the air. Opponents hit by Skyward Sonnet will fall to the ground slowly.

Wind’s Grande Ode (Elemental Burst)

  • Fires off an arrow made of countless coalesced winds, creating a huge Stormeye that sucks in objects and opponents, dealing continuous Anemo damage.
  • Elemental Absorption: If the Stormeye comes into contact with Hydro, Pyro, Cryo, or Electro elements, it will deal additional elemental damage of that type. May only occur once per use.

Embrace of Winds (Passive 1) – Unlocked at Ascension 1

  • Holding Skyward Sonnet creates an upcurrent that lasts for 20 seconds.

Stormeye (Passive 2) – Unlocked at Ascension 4

  • Regenerates 15 energy for Venti after the effects of Wind’s Grand Ode end. If an Elemental Absorption occurred, this also restores 15 energy to all characters of that corresponding element.

Windrider (Passive 3) – Unlocked Automatically

  • Decreases gliding stamina consumption for your own party members by 20%. Not stackable with passive talents that provide the exact same effects.

Ascension Information

Here’s what you’ll need to maximize Venti’s level cap.
  • 1st Ascension (Max Level 20) – 1 Vayuda Turquoise Sliver, 3 Cecilia, 3 Slime Condensate
  • 2nd Ascension (Max Level 40) – 3 Vayuda Turquoise Fragments, 2 Hurricane Seed, 10 Cecilia, 15 Slime Condensate
  • 3rd Ascension (Max Level 50) – 6 Vayuda Turquoise Fragments, 4 Hurricane Seed, 20 Cecilia, 12 Slime Secretions
  • 4th Ascension (Max Level 60) – 3 Vayuda Turquoise Chunks, 8 Hurricane Seed, 30 Cecilia, 18 Slime Secretions
  • 5th Ascension (Max Level 70) – 6 Vayuda Turquoise Chunks, 12 Hurricane Seed, 45 Cecilia, 12 Slime Concentrate
  • 6th Ascension (Max Level 80) – 6 Vayuda Turquoise Gemstones, 20 Hurricane Seed, 60 Cecilia, 24 Slime Concentrate

Constellation

Venti doesn’t need all of these constellations to be good.

  • Level 1 – Splitting Gales: Fires two additional split arrows per aimed shot, each dealing 33% of the original arrow’s damage.
  • Level 2 – Breeze of Reminiscence: Skyward Sonnet decreases opponents’ Anemo resistance and physical resistance by 12% for ten seconds. Opponents launched by Skyward Sonnet suffer an additional 12% Anemo resistance and physical resistance penalty while airborne.
  • Level 3 – Ode to Thousand Winds: Increases the level of Wind’s Grand Ode by three. Maximum upgrade level is 15.
  • Level 4 – Hurricane of Freedom: When Venti picks up an elemental orb or particle, he receives a 25% Anemo damage bonus for ten seconds.
  • Level 5 – Concerto dal Cielo: Increases the level of Skyward Sonnet by three. Maximum upgrade level is 15.
  • Level 6 – Storm of Defiance: Targets who take damage from Wind’s Grand Ode have their Anemo resistance decreased by 20%. If an Elemental Absorption occurred, their resistance towards the corresponding element is also decreased by 20%

Talent Materials

  • Talent Level-Up Material: Teachings/Guide/Philosophies of Ballad
  • Common Ascension Material: Slime Condensate/Secretions/Concentrate
  • Weekly Material: Tail of Boreas (Dropped by 70+ Wolf of the North Challenge)

Artifacts

For Venti you want to focus on attack percentage, critical damage, and critical rate. Make sure to grab extra Anemo damage in the appropriate slot.

  • Viridescent Venerer – (2) Gain a 15% Anemo damage bonus. (4) Increases Swirl damage by 60%. Decreases opponent’s elemental resistance to the element infused in the Swirl by 40% for ten seconds.
  • Noblesse Oblige – (2) +20% elemental burst damage. (4) Using an elemental burst increases all party member’s attack by 20% for 12 seconds. This effect cannot stack.
  • Wanderer’s Troupe – (2) +80 elemental mastery. (4) Increases charged attack damage by 35% if the character uses a catalyst or bow.

Weapon Options

With Patch 1.4, Elegy for the End likely becomes the best available weapon for support Venti. It gives the character wielding it 60 Elemental Mastery all the time. Every 0.2 seconds you can gain a Sigil of Remembrance from an elemental skill tick or elemental burst.

The character doesn’t need to be on the field for this. For example, Venti’s ultimate can provide Sigils when you use his ultimate and then switch to another character. Once you have four sigils, which takes at least 0.8 seconds, all four Sigils are consumed and you gain the Millennial Movement buff for 12 seconds.

When this buff is active all characters gain 100 Elemental Mastery and have their attack increased by 20%. There’s a 20 second cooldown on this effect.

For those without Elegy for the End, we recommend sticking with something trustworthy like The Stringless or Favonius Warbow.

Elegy for the End (5-Star)

Increases Elemental Mastery by 60. When the elemental skills or elemental bursts of the character wielding this weapon hit opponents, that character gains a Sigil of Remembrance. This effect can only be triggered once every 0.2 seconds and can be activated if said character is not on the field. When you possess four Sigils of Remembrance, all of them are consumed and all nearby party members gain the Millennial Movement: Farewell Song effect for 12 seconds. Millennial Movement: Farewell Song increases Elemental Mastery by 100 and increases attack by 20%. Once triggered, you will not gain Sigils of Remembrance for 20 seconds. Buffs of the same type will not stack.

The Stringless (4-Star)

Increases elemental skill and elemental burst damage by 24-48%.

Favonius Warbow (4-Star)

Critical hits have a 60-100% chance to generate one elemental orb, which will regenerate six energy for the character. Can only occur once every 12-6 seconds.

And that’s it! Is there anything we missed? Let us know in the comments below!
